Gaurangi & Yuvraj:
A Destiny Intertwined

From the bustling streets of Mumbai, India, Gaurangi and Yuvraj’s journey began in high school. Despite being two years apart and not particularly close, they were familiar faces in each other's lives. Little did they know, they were destined to be soulmates.

Yuvraj, two years older, graduated high school first and headed to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) near Chicago. Shortly after, Gaurangi graduated and pursued her undergraduate studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), just a city away. Despite planning trips to each other's universities, they never crossed paths and remained unaware of each other’s presence in the same region.

Life took Yuvraj to New York, making their chances of meeting even slimmer. However, fate had other plans. The global pandemic brought them both back to Mumbai, their hometown. It was at a birthday party for Yuvraj’s best friend Ali—who was dating Gaurangi’s best friend Zahra (now married)—that they reconnected. The spark was immediate, and they soon became inseparable.

Within nine short months, their bond grew undeniably strong, making them realize they were meant to be together. With the blessings of their families, Yuvraj orchestrated an elaborate proposal in the vibrant city of Bangkok. Gaurangi said yes!

Their story took another serendipitous turn when they found themselves back in Chicago, this time at Northwestern University for Yuvraj’s MBA program. As this chapter comes to an end, they are thrilled to return to India to celebrate their love with family and friends in Yuvraj’s ancestral hometown of Amritsar.
